At Glendening Elementary, we are committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. Our School Counselor, Mrs. Kari Kavanaugh, plays a vital role in helping students build the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Mrs. Kavanaugh provides a range of services, including individual and small group counseling, classroom guidance lessons focused on social-emotional learning, and support during times of transition or crisis. She also works closely with teachers, staff, and families to address student needs and create a positive, inclusive school environment.
Whether your child is learning how to manage emotions, solve problems, or build strong relationships, Mrs. Kavanaugh is here to help. Her goal is to ensure that every Glendening student feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

School counselors respect the right to confidentiality of students, teachers, parents and staff. Disclosures of abuse and/or imminent danger to self or others are reported to the appropriate agency in accordance with the law. Situations jeopardizing student safety, including incidents of abuse, imminent danger to self or others, bullying and sexual harassment are reported to the building administration in accordance with school policy.
